Faculty Pedagogy Symposium 11/8

Registration and the call for papers for the Saturday, November 8, ACCA faculty symposium is now open! Faculty from all disciplines are encouraged to attend and present. The priority deadline for parallel session abstracts is October 31.

Please register and submit your presentation abstract using the SCHED system at https://acca2025pedagogysymposium.sched.com.  You will need to use/create an account to register and create a second account to submit an abstract for a presentation. If you have difficulties, please contact Chris White at Lewis University.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Mesmin Destin from Northwestern University. Professor Destin directs a multidisciplinary lab group and investigates social psychological mechanisms underlying socioeconomic disparities in educational outcomes during adolescence and young adulthood. Using laboratory and field experiments, Prof. Destin studies factors that influence how young people perceive themselves and pursue their futures. At the university level, Prof. Destin examines how social experiences and institutional structures shape the motivation, well-being, and educational trajectories of lower socioeconomic status and first-generation college students.

After lunch, there will be an opportunity to participate in an AI workshop. Details about that workshop will be available soon.

Information about the Lewis University Oak Brook campus location are available on the SCHED system and on the Lewis University website here. The event is free for all faculty and administrators from ACCA member institutions. Lunch will be provided.
