ACCA Student Symposium Update

The 2024 ACCA Student Symposium is this week Saturday on the Romeoville campus of Lewis University. 

Registration for the event is now closed. We currently have 150+ registered for the event. If you registered for the event, you should have received a confirmation email from Christine M. Morrow (MorrowCh@lewisu.edu). Check your spam filter if you did not yet receive this message.

The schedule of presentation will be available on the SCHED website when it is prepared. Visit https://accastudentsymposium2024.sched.com/ and login as prompted.

Coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided upon your arrival.  A buffet lunch also will be served.  Gluten free and vegan options will be provided.   Upon arrival at Lewis University, please make your way to the University Dining Room, which is in building #12 on the map linked here.  You may use any university parking lot.  A parking permit is not required.  If you’re presenting a poster, please arrive no later than 8:30 so that you have time to mount your poster.  Locations will be assigned and e-mailed to presenters in the coming days. 

Our plenary speaker this year is Dr. Stephen Maynard Caliendo who is Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College.  The title of Dr. Caliendo talk is “Challenges with Researching Race: Focus on the 2024 US Elections”.  Dr. Caliendo’s research expertise is in political psychology, political communication, and race and ethnicity studies. Dr. Caliendo is co-founder and co-director of The Project on Race in Political Communication and is often asked to provide media commentary on national and local political news programs.
